In more than 90% of our inspections, pumping is not required. Pumping is only required if the level of sludge is greater than, or equal to 1/3 of the tank's capacity.
Pumping a septic tank when not needed removes the bacteria and enzymes essential in breaking down the sludge and scum to liquid form. These bacteria and enzymes are essential in maintaining a healthy septic tank.
POWTS represents Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System.
A licensed POWTS Maintainer conducts all inspections and keeps you in compliance with your county septic maintenance requirements.
To verify septic inspection requirements and our licensing please feel free to contact your county zoning office.
Vilas County Zoning 715.479.3620
Oneida County Zoning 715.369.6218
If upon inspection your septic tank is found to be 1/3 full of sludge and scum, State Code requires that a licensed septage pumper must pump it.
